SAIC Constructors is looking for an entry level Electrical Construction Engineering Specialist to join their family of employees in their Atlantic Regional Office. This position will report directly to Senior Project Management and will require participation in numerous construction project activities both in the Charlotte office and in the field. The current position available is located in our field office in Plainfield, CT.

Job Location: Plainfield, CT.

Job Responsibilities:
: Administer the submittal and shop drawing process. Specifically, candidate receives submittals/shop drawings from subcontractors and uses technical training to review for completeness and compliance with technical specifications and drawings. Approves submittals/shop drawings specific to his/her technical training and forwards others for review by Designers of Record. Responsible for tracking submittals/shop drawings, ensuring subcontractors submit on time and that reviews are completed and returned on time. Maintains the submittal/shop drawing database.
: Support project controls with management of invoicing and scheduling. Specifically, candidate reviews all Electrical subcontractor invoices for accuracy and returns to subcontractors for re:submittal any inaccurate invoices or invoices lacking backup documentation. Manages all aspects of the electrical engineering portion of the project schedule by comparing subcontractor progress with the project schedule. Updates the schedule monthly to reflect changes in the work. Keep the Project/Site Managers apprised of any issues that would affect the project completion date.
: Assist with change order management, estimating, and quality control. Specifically, candidate uses knowledge of electrical engineering principles to review electrical subcontractor change order requests for accuracy and timeliness. Develops independent estimates and schedule impacts of the work to compare with requested change orders. Negotiates change orders with subcontractors. Performs daily inspections of the work, ensuring quality of work matches requirements of contract drawings and specifications. Notifies subcontractors of any discrepancies between work in place and subcontract requirements. Follows up to ensure that discrepancies are corrected.
: Manage the RFI process. Specifically, candidate will be responsible for processing electrical engineering related Requests for Information (RFI's) from subcontractors, including performing the necessary technical research to provide a response to the RFI and management of the RFI tracking system.

Job Requirements:
: Undergraduate degree in Electrical engineering.
: Excellent verbal and written communication skills
: Computer literacy

: Summer or Co:op experience on a construction job site
: EIT registration
: Experience in power plant construction
